A Drunken Snowman is an adult beverage that combines two types of chocolate, ice cream, hot chocolate, Baileys, and whipped cream. With ingredients like that, I am not sure how this recipe could fail! (Don’t worry–it won’t fail.) It’s perfect for these cold winter months and delightful to sip while sitting next to a warm fire. Try my Blender EggNog for another cold-weather cocktail.
Drunken Snowman
I can’t remember the last time I built a snowman, but I can sure remember making this Drunken Snowman! It is like the adult version of this fun activity, but without the cold, wet snow and getting bundled up to go outside just to watch it melt a few days later!
Ingredients & Substitutions
Hot chocolate: Hot chocolate is one of those drinks that just warms me up on a cold day. In fact, I have a hot cocoa recipe that would go great in this Drunken Snowman.
Baileys Irish Cream: This is an alcoholic beverage made with cream, cocoa, and Irish whiskey. It is delicious on its own, over ice, or, of course, in coffee. You could easily substitute Kahlua or Rumchata. Of course, you could also leave it out to make this drink appropriate for all ages.
Ice Cream: Make your own homemade vanilla ice cream to use in the drink!
This recipe has ice cream in it, so it’s not a drink that will warm you up, but the Baileys that is added will help with that!
How to Make a Chocolate Rim on Your Glass
The first thing I would do to make a Drunken Snowman is pick out a few of your most festive or wintery mugs. Then, get your milk chocolate shavings. If you didn’t buy chocolate shavings, just take out a vegetable peeler and peel away! Set the shavings aside in a shallow dish. Meanwhile, melt the white chocolate in a separate shallow dish. You will be dipping the rims of the mugs in the melted white chocolate, followed by dipping into the shavings.
Can I Use a Different Alcohol?
Sure! Lots of folks have suggested Kahlua and some use Rumchata. You can opt for any alcohol that you enjoy.
Can I Make This Without Alcohol?
Of course. It is the perfect drink for a family get-together if you opt to leave out the alcohol.

Nassera, you could try using heavy whipping cream, or a flavored coffee creamer.
Can you make nonalcoholic? What would Jeff you rep have baileys with?
One pint is 2 cups, or one of the small ice cream containers at the market (it’ll say one pint on it, or 473 mls if you’re metric.
I like your recipes. What is the substitute of Baileys. I don’t drink.
Can you you give me rich brownies recipe please
Thanks
Saba

Hey Amanda — I personally try to read every recipe you post and try most of them. However, I have never offered to “lend a hand” so here goes. If you EVER need a recipe tester for your cocktail recipes I’m your person! These sound so good but then I’m a sucker for anything Bailey’s. Thanks so much for your hard work. You make our lives easier!
Happy upcoming Turkey Day. Hoist a glass!!
I’ll give you a call next time cocktails are being tested! ❤️
Good with Chambord
Holding my breath until my daughter or my granddaughter bakes the chocolate cake of my dreams. At my age just reading the recipe is enough for me to know end results. Merry Everything to you and family. Thank you for sharing all the goodies.
I thought it looked like a fussy recipe but super easy 👍
What size “glass” or cup do you need??
